OFMC’s Imaging Department encompasses several divisions of imaging modalities, of which Ultrasound is included.

The Ultrasound division of our Imaging Department assists in the detection and diagnosing a variety of diseases and/or health related problems that a patient may be experiencing. Ultrasound studies are medical tests that do not use radiation, but instead are performed by using transducers (hand-held wands placed on the skin with gel) that emit high frequency sound waves to create an image of inside the body. Our state-of-the-art ultrasound imaging equipment also has Color-flow and Doppler capabilities which aid in assessing arteries such as in the neck (carotids) to evaluate for blockages and veins to evaluate for blood clots.

We are also proud of the fact that this division has achieved accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) for Echocardiography which is a national organization that recognizes a facility having and maintaining high quality standards of heart imaging studies; along with utilizing certified licensed individuals for the examinations.
