Dr. Avilés-Meléndez was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She earned her bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Puerto Rico, completed her medical education through University of Medicine and Health Sciences, St. Kitts, followed by the Internal Medicine residency at Damas Hospital, Puerto Rico, finalizing medical training with the Endocrinology fellowship through Rochester Regional Health at Rochester, New York.The varied locations for training, along with being fluent in both Spanish and English, have provided great experiences with diverse populations, allowing her to provide empathetic, compassionate, and individualized care in the endocrine field, always aiming to work together with patients to meet their health goals and achieve the best possible quality of life.Outside of medicine, Dr. Avilés-Meléndez enjoys spending time with family and friends, getting lost in a good book, and making meaningful memories with the people she loves.
