Dry Needling

What is Dry Needling?

Dry Needling is a technique that trained healthcare professionals use to help treat musculoskeletal pain. During the treatment, a thin, sharp needle is inserted into the skin to treat underlying myofascial trigger points. Trigger points are tender, knotted areas that can develop in your muscles.

Overused muscles don't allow the muscle fibers to receive adequate blood supply which leads to lack of oxygen and nutrients getting to the muscles and prohibits them from fully recovering. Those areas become sore, painful and can decrease quality of life. Inserting the needle into the trigger point draws normal blood supply back to the area which releases tension.
